FAMILY VISITATIONS
Palolo Chinese Home is dedicated to keeping residents, visitors, and staff safe while visiting loved ones during this pandemic. PCH follows all CDC and CMS guidelines in regards to reopening visitation for our residents. We encourage friends and family to once again visit loved ones in safety and comfort here at the home. As such, PCH has the following guidelines in place:
- All resident visitation will require a scheduled appointment prior to arrival
- Please email schedule@palolohome.org or (808) 285-4557 to make an appointment
- Visitors will wear a surgical, KN95, or better mask while visiting. (no cloth masks please)
- Visitors will be screened for temperature and asked COVID questions prior to starting visitation
- If feeling unwell, please notify PCH to reschedule appointment and Do Not come to the home
- Please limit visitors to 2 family members per visit
- Please call visitation line at (808) 285-4557 for any questions concerning visitation
COVID-19 UPDATE

Aloha Residents, Families, and Friends of Palolo Chinese Home:
On August 31, 2021 we had reported that an indirect kitchen staff member tested positive for COVID-19, was asymptomatic, and had not reported to work since August 23. As an update we would like to report that on September 1, the kitchen staff member was cleared and could once again report for work. There were no other positive cases as a result of this employee. Currently, the Palolo Chinese Home has no active cases of COVID-19 in the facility.
As an added precaution we are continuing to screen residents during every shift for COVID-19 symptoms including fever. Per guidance from CMS, DOH, and the CDC, PCH will continue to perform testing twice a week with unvaccinated staff and as an added precaution will test all vaccinated staff once a week due to the high rate of infection within the local community.
Resident and staff safety continues to be our top priority. Family visitations remain open for residents in our Green Zone areas and take place in outdoor settings at our facility. We encourage families to remain in contact with loved ones virtually as well. Please contact Jay Nishimura, Activities Manager, at (808) 564-5217 to schedule a virtual session via Facetime or Zoom.
