An important underlying philosophy by which Palolo Chinese Home (PCH) has been guided for over 100 years is to provide healthy aging and familial support that nurtures the body, mind and spirit of residents and their families, and to provide these services at the highest quality possible in the most appropriate setting.
This means that in addition to providing services on-site at Palolo Chinese Home, we also provide services in seniors’ homes.
Many seniors have minimal care needs and are able to remain in the comfort of their homes with the help of our In-Home Personal Care staff. We help with personal care needs such as bathing, toileting, and meal preparation/cleanup.
We also provide seniors with companionship and socialization, as well as activities and exercise to enhance their quality of living while at home.
To assist seniors living at home, Palolo Chinese Home’s meal delivery service provides nutritious meals, prepared in Palolo Chinese Home’s kitchen to meet prescribed dietary needs. Meals are available for delivery at lunch and dinner Monday through Friday.
The same hot and nutritious meals that we deliver to senior’s homes are also available frozen and can be purchased in bulk numbers. This gives seniors the ability to select from a variety of meals of their choosing and family members have the option of pick-up at PCH to avoid a delivery charge.
For seniors with disabilities, daily chores such as dusting, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming become increasingly difficult to continue on their own. Palolo Chinese Home offers home cleaning services to assist frail seniors living at home maintain a safe and clean environment. A limited amount of grant funds are available to help subsidize the cost for seniors with low incomes.
Falls and related injuries are the #1 cause for rapid deterioration and placement into a nursing home facility. We can help with a comprehensive home assessment performed by a certified Aging In Place Specialist, and if necessary, installation of equipment and/or modifications to improve safety at home.
Palolo Chinese Home’s Good Neighbor Concierge Referral Services is a community service available to anyone seeking assistance and information on caregiver and senior care.
And if services are needed, we help link people to community services and providers, including Palolo Chinese Home’s own senior day care, overnight respite, home delivered meals, and/or residential house cleaning.
